Changelog
What changed in the game, newest first. Dekiro is in development: these are test builds, not releases.
20 October 2026: a new start screen #
- Your hero on the Overlook. The start screen is the real Sanctuary Vale running live: your character stands on a new hill outside the walls, seen from behind in a heroic pose, hair and coat moving in the wind, looking down at the town. Real time of day, drifting clouds, townsfolk, lanterns at night and the Vale's music.
- Character first. Create a character (the look shows live on the hill), then choose Single Player or Multiplayer, then a world. Switch characters right on the main page with the arrows; the hero on the hill changes with you. Multiplayer: host one of your worlds (or a new one, also through Steam) or join a friend.
- A new font. Fusion Pixel 12 px everywhere: much easier to read. Windows were widened to fit.
- Respawn. Restart here: after 10 seconds, with 25% health, and from level 10 it costs 2% of your level's EXP. Restart in town: full health and no EXP lost. The death window shows both costs before you choose.
- Buffs. War Cry, Iron Skin, Haste and Blessing have a 20 second cooldown. Casting one again restarts its 4 minutes and never stacks. Iron Skin and Haste are stronger.
- Quest markers are a single "!": gold for a quest to take, blue for something to hand in.
- Cape of Valour calls every monster within your minimap's reach (90 m), not the whole map.
19 October 2026: the first playtest #
Everything from the first real playtest, in one build.
- In-game chat (Enter): say, party, whisper and shout, plus system lines for quest rewards, loot, EXP, level-ups and every message that pops up over your character, so you can scroll back.
- Combat. Clicking a monster now aims at it. Hits count against the monster's real body, so long beasts (wolves, tigers, crocodiles, rats) are hit at the nose and the tail, and ranged monsters stop backing away once you've caught them. Bosses heal 2% a second when nobody has hurt them for 20 seconds.
- Skills. Grandmaster now goes from G1 to G10. Dungeon bosses can drop a Soul Jade: study it to raise one Grandmaster skill a step. And above G10 waits a rank the game doesn't mention until you reach it. Buff skills last 4 minutes and show an aura.
- Progress. About 20 hours to level 90. More health regeneration out of combat, stronger potions, lower monster health at low levels. An EXP potion (double EXP for 15 minutes) and the Cape of Valour drop rarely.
- Shadows. Their minions die with them (you still get the EXP), they only send waves while being attacked, and breaking one heals everyone fighting it by 25%.
- Upgrades. Shadow Shards from +5, Shadow Cores only for items of level 30 and up. Bosses drop cores and skillbooks now and then.
- Schools. You can switch schools until you rise in one, and trade a skillbook of another school for one of yours at your grandmaster (with a cooldown).
- Interface. Shop, skill and potion tooltips with stats and a comparison to what you wear; tooltips switch instantly; a 10-slot hotbar; V opens the skills too; party members on the big map; an EXP bar tooltip; a sprint toggle; the mouse stays inside the window; the camera turns over open windows; Alt shows the names of items and gold on the ground; loot has an outline; a smaller colour picker; materials no longer claim you can "use" them.
- Multiplayer. No more freeze for everyone when someone takes a portal: maps load in the background behind a short "Travelling..." screen. Friends no longer sink into the hills and can pick up loot again. Steam explains why it can't connect (signed out, offline mode, Family View) and retries from the start menu.
- The world. Clouds in the sky over darker cloud shadows. The minimap and world map show trees and buildings. 88 more townsfolk, out on the roads too. A tavern for the Bierlinger Tribe in the Vale, seven named hens, grandmasters who face the square, and people who turn to you when you talk to them.
12 October 2026: phones #
- Touch controls for iPhone and Android: a stick, skill buttons, windows that fit the screen and its notch, long-press tooltips. Phones join a PC host or a dedicated server.
- An Android build, an iOS project and a macOS build (with Steam).
11 October 2026: the big content update #
- Your character as an HD-2D sprite, with animations for every weapon, five armor tiers in your school's colours and rarity trims, and flashier skill effects.
- All 20 dungeons, from the Crypt of Whispers to the Chamber of Seals, with puzzles, mazes and bosses.
- The story. The main questline "The Cracked Seal" unfolds as you level, up to the First Shadow raid. Lore tablets on every map, NPCs whose lines change with your progress.
- Fullmoon Awakening I to III for +9 Fullmoon weapons, and a long road of 1000 fragments to forge one.
- Map dangers. Heat in the desert, cold on Frostpeak, cult rituals, shifting lava, diving drakes, avalanches, demon portals and the Shadowlands' shade.
- Gate Keepers and waystones to travel between places you've been. NPCs drawn as sprites.
- Balance. A full pass so the levels, gear and gold fit together.
10 October 2026: a bigger world #
- Every map reworked: one town each, portal shrines, big landmarks.
- The desert: larger and emptier, with sandstorms, Storm Caches, Sunstone, roaming rare bosses, a caravan that keeps a timetable, and the Sun Tomb.
- Towns that feel lived in: crates, carts, stalls and laundry lines; houses with more detail; cats and dogs you can pet; NPCs with names and titles.
6 to 9 October 2026: the foundations #
- Combat: shape-based attacks and skills (no tab-targeting), four schools with six skills each, combos, attributes, crits, elites, ranged monsters with telegraphs you can dodge, duels.
- Shadows: stones that spawn waves of monsters until you break them.
- Loot: gear with rarities and random bonuses, the +0 to +9 blacksmith, runes, rare potions, the Fullmoon weapons, trading, storage, shops.
- Multiplayer: host for friends (also through Steam) or run a dedicated server; parties with shared EXP; AI companions who join your party.
- The world: 177 monster types from level 1 to 90, nine maps linked by torii portals, quests and daily bounties, world events, achievements and titles, fishing, a day and night cycle, original music and sound.
- Saving: characters live on your PC and can visit any world.
